  • Grow these famous flowers from Edelweiss seeds! Edelweiss, also known as Leontopodium Alpinum, is a beloved wildflower native to the Swiss Alps. It thrives in well-drained xeriscape rock gardens, as a mass ground cover, or in alpine troughs. The low clump of silvery grey foliage produces clusters of wooly white flowers with small flower heads held in stars of glistening whitish bracts in early summer.

When planting Edelweiss herb seeds, be mindful that they are very small, so avoid covering them with soil. Simply press the seeds gently into the soil in the starter tray, and water from underneath. Once established, transplant the Edelweiss ground cover to a mostly sunny area with soil that has excellent drainage.

These resilient flowers are known for their spring blooming and are well-suited for rock gardens and pots. Marde Ross & Company, a licensed California Nursery since 1985, offers high-quality Edelweiss seeds for your gardening needs.
